In 1991, Houk relocated to New York and opened the Edwynn Houk Gallery, at 745 Fifth Avenue. Since its inception in 1997, the gallery has presented ambitious exhibitions of 20th century masters including Alfred Stieglitz, Man Ray, Moholy-Nagy, El Lissitzky, Robert Frank and Walker Evans, while simultaneously introducing the work of contemporary photographers who have since become leading participants in the field, including Sally Mann, Robert Polidori, Lynn Davis and Lalla Essaydi. Edwynn Houk had been a board member for AIPAD and is currently on the board of directors for ADAA. He is a longstanding member of the Selection Committee for Art Basel and Paris Photo. less
